Print No. 1 of 10. To create this 3-color print of a winter scene Woodward designed and drew on plates made from several thicknesses of pebble-grained mat board, and then carved out the unwanted areas, creating three plates, one for each color. He struck only ten prints on his hand-operated printing press.
